Engineering and Programming with Arduino Quadcopter

Students learned skills to build and control drones using Arduino boards, Arduino programming, and quadcopter parts. This project gave students a hands-on experience that extended the capabilities of an Arduino board by adding programmable motors, propellers, and sensors. Students could program the Arduino boards to adjust the power to each motor autonomously. Additionally, they could add more self-controlling sensors such as barometers, GPS, sonar, and a gyroscope. Arduino programming allowed students to use a free programming language to control technological systems that solved problems or accomplished tasks. Students were engaged in creating these flying robotic systems that sensed the environment.
