Math Medic Core

Math Medic Core is an online platform that closely follows the Building a Thinking Classroom Model, using the EFFL model, Experience First, Formalize Later. This means that students work together (ideally using vertical writing surfaces) to think, discuss and gain understanding of topics before the teacher helps students to arrive at formal definitions and formulas. While students enjoy this type of classroom there is currently a lack of supplementary material for this type of learning. The Math Medic Core solves this problem, adding resources (homework, practice, and assessments) that connect the real world with Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus. Multiple teachers in the math department and their students will benefit from this software.
