SuperFlex! Nurturing the Developing Child by Building their Executive Functioning Toolbox

This project will foster holistic development in K-2 students by integrating Executive Functioning (EF) support into their education. Nurturing EF skills during these formative years is essential for building a strong foundation in cognitive abilities and emotional well-being. Through the implementation of engaging and interactive activities within the existing Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum across the three primary schools, students will be empowered with the tools and strategies necessary to navigate challenges, regulate emotions, and achieve academic success. A supportive learning environment that equips students with lifelong skills for success in both academics and life will be created. The program, Social Thinking, builds upon the work that has already been started at the K-2 level, Zones of Regulation. Using this as a leverage point, the social emotional lessons already in place will be enhanced by adding a layer of Executive Functioning instruction in a fun and engaging way that will transfer into real life scenarios and skills.
